New Brewery To Open In The Bronx

February 20, 2010

New York has a long way to go before we reach the brew expectations of say Portland, Ore., or San Diego. But the city is slowly getting there with baby steps.

One pretty big step: The Boogie Down is getting a brewery. Aptly named, The Bronx Brewery is still in the early planning stages but they’ve already got a pretty strong vision and an exciting proposition – local beer!

Even though the team only just nailed down a final location for this awesome operation (and build out is pretty damn close), they’re already having a tasting party. It’s by invite only but if you can nab one by next Wednesday, you’ll get a chance to taste their American Pale Ale.

It’s beautiful to see not only a brewery blossoming in what has long been infertile ground for such a business but also that this is a business genuinely interested in what beer drinkers want. The guys at The Bronx Brewery are looking for honest feedback on what works and what might need improvement.

I, for one, am excited to check out another NYC brewery. I can’t wait to find out how the beer tastes.
